Not necessarily - apparently big league ballplayers are stupid in this regard. I still recall being pissed back in 2001 when Nomar had his wrist problems and instead of getting surgery in October 2000 after the season, he waited, suffered through spring training, and had to get surgery anyways and lost pretty much the entire 2001 season.

I say the exact opposite. I might be hesitant to draft him in a redraft, but in a keeper or dynasty, I'm not worried. If you're only about winning this year, go ahead - but I plan my drafts for the present AND the future. Even if he is shut down this year or has surgery, I have little doubt that he'll again be a first rounder once he comes back.
Yeah In a keeper I might knock him down a peg or two, but not much. However, in a redraft I just dont see the point in taking the risk in albert pujols. There are at least 7 other players I would take over him at this point...

He was my very first draft pick ever that year - and he was out for the entire season 3 days later.
lets not overreact here. this is simply a radio personality offering his opinion, not a surgeon, trainer, manager, or pujols himself. we all know his elbow is not healthy, but more than likely, he'll fight through it like always.
