If I can't get utley, Phillips, Upton(although I won't reach for him), Cano, Kinsler, or weeks, Then I will hold out until the last few picks of the draft to get my 2B. Guys I might look for late: Pedroia(no one seems to want him), Aaron Hill, Freddy Sanchez, and Felipe Lopez.
Second base will be one of the last spots I fill before going after my reserves. On another site, here is a list of second basemen (or players who you could slot into 2b) still around after 200 picks in a Mock Draft:
Kelly Johnson Howie Kendrick Orlando Hudson Kaz Matsui Aaron Hill Yunel Escobar Felipe Lopez
Not a bad group... not great, but certainly better than most third tier catchers.
If you waited until round ten or eleven (where many of these guys went), you could have STILL had:
Placido Polanco Ian Kinsler Dan Uggla Rickie Weeks Jeff Kent Dustin Pedroia
I took Upton with Pick number 69, and I later moved him to the outfield (just a mock, remember) after I saw just as much talent at second base as in the outfield later in the draft.
Caution... this was not a roto league, so we did not fall all over ourselves chasing steals. Starting Pitching went fast tho'.
I think either C or 2b will be my last position filled. I plan on drafting Yunel Escobar in the last couple of rounds and hope for the best. I was impressed with him last year and he has crazy eligibility.

In a league that has CI/MI and UT I dont' think 2B has any position scarcity at all. If you are in a shallow yahoo league then sure you might consider pushing 2B up a little.
