I know Yahoo rules make a player log 15 games before he becomes eligible at a certain position. Do these rules still pertain to a player switching positions before the year starts? I am just curious because Jose Reyes could be a decent pickup at 2nd as well.

If the player did not record 15 games or more the previous year at a given position, they will not be eligible at that position until they have logged 15 games there this season. I'm pretty sure that's set in stone by Yahoo....

I'm shocked. they must've made a special exception for Arod. He's already listed as SS/3B at bigleaguers.com. Which almost definitely means he opens the season eligible at both.

i believe there a was a similar question about reyes a few weeks ago. someone wrote an E-mail to yahoo, and yahoo responded by saying that they will base position eligibility on information they recieve from various sources regarding what position a player will play. if someone wants to search for the thread to get the exact response go ahead.
so i guess there is a chance that A-rod, reyes and soriano may all be eligible at their new positions.
welcome home andy

I saw this link in another post, it could be an indicator of his Yahoo eligibility.:

Interesting. Looks like they may have made a A-Rod exception. Not for Jose Reyes, though. But how about Alfonso Soriano? 2B/CF!!! And he's not near as assured of playing CF as A-Rod is to play 3B.
