That's how I see it, too. I love Tejada, and expect a huge year, but I expect bigger years out of Nomar and Renteria. Of course, I'm biased, but so are you.
I expect big years from both Nomar and Tejada - but I agree that there is more value in Tejada. Tejada in the 3rd or 4th round beats Nomar in the 1st or 2nd.
mookie, do you really expect tejada to go as late as the 3rd or 4th round? maybe it's because i have a few nostalgic a's fans in my league, but i expect him to go in the early or mid second round.
renteria is a less fashionable selection than nomar, but i might hold off until the second round and grab him then.
I'm not on the Renteria Band-Wagon. I think he's a bust. last year was the only year he got close to 100 rbi's. he's only batted +.300 like two or three seasons. I'm taking Tejada everytime over Renteria. He hasn't proven himself to me yet!
Here's my 2004 projections.
Edgar Renteria .287 90r 9hr 68rbi 28sb
Sorry to bust your bubble.. But don't say i didn't warn you.... Anybody else feel the way i do about Renteria? I love the sb's too, but dang!!! it's a waste of a 3rd/4th round pick!!! And don't play in these kinds of leagues, but if i did, i would never take Renteria over other quality 3rd/4th round picks.

If there's a wagon, then I'm on it. He is 28 years old and has been getting better each year. I don't see how that's a bust.
however, renteria's just coming into his own. that scrappy line-up is gelling, and he'll be mixed in with rolen, edmonds and pujols.
i like jeter, too. i think he'll have a great year in one of the most powerful line-ups ever. ironically, my hesitation's font is precisely that; he'll have very little reason or need to steal. this applies to a-rod, too (who, yes, i agree is still an obvious number 1 pick), as his steals will also plummet.
I definetly think that Renteria is good. But i tend to shy away from the guys who just had a breakout seasons after 6 years of putting up almost the same stats every year. I can see how they got better a little bit each year. But i'm expecting him to go back down to his old self (just like Jeter after he hit 100+ rbi's)
You know i just realized. I'm just sharing my opinion because i don't have to worry about shortstop. I have A-rod as my keeper, so i'm sure i haven't even looked into as much as all of you who are trying to get him to fill in your rosters. I understand!
Let me ask you this my helpers of fantasy!!! If i have A-rod, and Renteria is not kept by one my buddies. How would you rate a infield in a 6 team league of Delgado, M. Giles, Renteria, A-Rod(3B)?
