NYC and Philly NL Only 5x5 Keeper League has openings

Postby jbk150 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:28 pm

Our NL Only 5x5 Keeper League has just had a few owners drop out in the last month or
so. League is mostly New York and Philly guys - the
draft is usually held at one city or the other. Phoning
in is always an option, but it's usually a relatively long
day. Cost is $200 plus web administration fee
(CBS Sportsline) amounting to $240 or so. There's
modest payouts for the top 4 guys. There have historically been 12 teams. The league has been in existence for just over 20 years.

There's also a round of 10 "Ultra" picks after the
auction which allows for players in the minors to be selected. Each team has a total of $273 to spend among
23 players (9 pitchers, 5 OFs, 2 catchers, 1 Utility,
1 Corner Infielder, 1 Middle Infielder, 1 shortstop, 1
3B, 1 2B, and 1 1B).

After being in the league for 2 years, player
contracts can be upped either $5 for one year or $10 for
2 years.

There is free agent bidding once a month with a total
of $50 for the season. Players who switch leagues
give the owner their contract dollars back in the free
agent bidding (provided they have someone to replace
them). As such, there would be opportunity to have more than $50 to spend.

There is a limit of 6 free moves per year for ineffective play. There's unlimited moves for DL moves, trades, and being sent to the minors.

Player eligibility based on 20 games played at a position the year before or any game during the current season.
