Anyone Know Yahoo Position rules?

Postby gws226 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:15 am

Hey all,

I've got any early off season keeper trade deadline/draft date and Yahoo hasn't updated positions yet for this year.

Anyone know the Yahoo position rules (aka How many games at each position are required for eligibilty?)

My trade subjects values all change if they are not eligibile at certain positions:

Popi: 2006- 1B eligible, 2007, 1B 7games
Hafner: 2006- 1B eligible, 2007 1B 11games
Chone 2006- 2b,3b,of, 2007 2B; 9games, 3B, 99games OF, 11games
ect ect
If you found my advice helpful, please help me

Yahoo wrote:Batters need either 5 Games Started or 10 Games Played at a position to gain eligibility. Pitchers need 3 Starts to gain SP eligibility, 5 Relief Appearances to gain RP eligibility. Each number displayed is a count-down, so for instance, "5" means "five games remaining to gain eligibility."

The players you listed are eligible for all those positions under Yahoo rules.

Ahh! Excellent! Thanks! Now the question is, did Ortiz "start" 5+ games at 1B last year? Where is a good boston fan when you need one! :-B

As was mentioned, all those players have the positional eligibility you are hoping for. But to clarify, anyone expecting positional eligibility updates between now and start of season will probably not get them. Barring exceptional cases, our starting positional eligibility is set, and will then update during the 2008 season using the rules being quoted (5 games started at a position, 10 games played at a position).

Really?.... I thought that I had heard somewhere that you guys were going to be doing another round of eligibility based on team's projected depth charts during Spring Training. I.e., putting Braun as OF, etc.

Not sure where I had heard that now... :-S
