Man. What a low class act. Signs with the Yankees after the Cubs and Dodgers had bopth been waiting for him. They didnt even need to waste thier time.

Why did the Yankees decide to go after Maddux now that they have A-rod? Why didn't they go after him earlier in the offseason? Why did bringing A-rod to the team make the Yankees think they need Maddux? Can someone please explain this to me?

I think steinbrenner has an obsession with having pitchers win #300 with a yankee uniform on...but thats just me...

Man, if they do get Vidro. That team will definately be unstoppable.

And I still think Maddux should not have played around like that with the Cubs.....just ridiculas.

I think George would sign Maddux just out of spite for other contending teams. He'd sign him to keep him off teams like the Red Sox or Angels. George is very paranoid.

I highly doubt that you had a problem when the Sox bought a few players this offseason. It is a problem in baseball but blame the system and not the Yanks. Any fan would love to have an owner that did whatever he felt needed to be done to improve the team. If there were more than a handful of teams out there that spent money, then the Yanks wouldn't have as many players to choose from. Unfortunately, most of the teams would rather just take the luxury tax money and put it into their pockets. George is a great businessman. He bought the team over 30 years ago for $10 million and the team's value is now approaching $1 billion. He continues to make great business decisions and puts his money back into the team.
