Why did the Yankees decide to go after Maddux now that they have A-rod? Why didn't they go after him earlier in the offseason? Why did bringing A-rod to the team make the Yankees think they need Maddux? Can someone please explain this to me?

I think steinbrenner has an obsession with having pitchers win #300 with a yankee uniform on...but thats just me...

Man, if they do get Vidro. That team will definately be unstoppable.
And I still think Maddux should not have played around like that with the Cubs.....just ridiculas.

I think George would sign Maddux just out of spite for other contending teams. He'd sign him to keep him off teams like the Red Sox or Angels. George is very paranoid.
