almost five times? try about 7 times.

Is there actually a team under a $30 million payroll? Wow, that truly is amazing.

Pittsburgh was shooting for $35 - $40 million this year, so it's not us.

that mid-90's team wasn't made with money.. so whats wrong with expecting that?? .... i think alot of us are caught up in the excitement of George's spending spree, but i agree with Erboes - it might lead to a salary cap.....theres no need for Maddux unless he becomes a lefty.. its overkill

It was only a couple years ago that he refused to spend much more than the second highest team, then they new agreement passed and he went nustso. I think he decided to take the "I'll show you what spending is" tact. And, boy, did he ever. It's scary to think he' can probably spend double what he is now and still make a profit.

WABC-TV is reporting that free agent Greg Maddux will sign with the Yankees.

THat is off of Rotoworld....looks like its gonna happen, although I dont think the AL will be kind to Maddux....and I doubt he will get the corners like he did in the NL....Non-Impact move if you ask me...Although it is irritating as hell.

Im not a Sox or Yankee fan, but I think that these moves have forced the Sox to make another move before the deadline...Beltran?
