The buzz here tonight in NY is that Scott Boras has leaked it out that Maddux is about to sign a contract with the Yankees.
I could be wrong in what I'm saying but I'll be dead before I realize it.

I heard the same thing on FOX News at 10 an hour ago. However I hope we don't.
Why the hell do we need another 38 year old right-handed pitcher?

Wow, I threw that out as a conspiracy theory when the ARod trade first came out. Originally, the trade was rumored to include Contreras, and I figured since Boras represented ARod, he might try to get the Yankees to bite on Maddux to replace Contreras in their lineup. It would be just like them though to sign Maddux when they didn't need a starting pitcher.
If they do sign Maddux, a lot of people who drafted Lieber or Contreras are going to be pissed.
It's time to roll the dice.

In a 7 game series, its hard to win without 3 good starting pitchers. Kevin Brown is an injury waiting to happen and Contreras is a talented question mark. I guess they figure if Maddux can give them 5-6 innings of decent pitching along with their potent offense and strenghtened bullpen, they're alot better off. You have to figure they'd at best split with Boston the first 2 games of a series. Game 3 would be pivotal so they need a reliable starting pitcher. I know I'm getting ahead of myself but this is how Yankee fans (even former ones) think.

I hope they don't get him either. I think Maddux is on the decline and won't be nearly as succesful and Clemens was in his later years.

I hope that Maddux signs with the Cubs a or some other NL team. I think that at this point in his carreer going to the AL will hurt his value. Also I think it would be stupid for the Yanks to sign him. They already gor Contreras and Lieber to fill in at the 4 and 5.

Even you Yankee fans got to admit this is getting sick. This is as far away from the model of those beautiful Yankee teams of the '90's as you can get. Ugh, I'm going to vomit.

Boras is an absolute joke. i cant believe that guys like millwood and I-rod stay with him. he promises them huge contracts and then they get hung out to dry. Milwood had to go to arbitration because of borris' stupidity.
