New Spin on ARod for Soriano?

Postby Casimir » Tue Feb 17, 2004 12:04 am

I'm surprised I have not seen this analogy in here yet. And if its already been used, I apologize for repeating it. But if you were on either side of a trade proposal of ARod for Soriano and a prospect (or a draft pick in next season's fantasy draft), what would you do?

Myself, I may seriously consider dealing ARod for Soriano, simply because SS is deeper than 2B.

Granted, its a bit simplistic to think about what you would do in this instance since the rest of the rosters are unknown, but lets say an owner in your league offers you ARod for Soriano and 1 of your prospects/draft picks. Or say an owner offers you Soriano and 1 of your prospects/picks for ARod. What would you do?

In fantasy yes. In the real game ARod is far more valuable then Soriano.

Agreed - in fantasy, that offer would at least be worth considering, at least in 5x5 or a similar format. With SB far less valuable in the real game than in fantasy ball, though, it's a different story.

depends on scoring system used soriano may turn more valuable this year then ARod in fantasy. Remember that the home park definately favors Soriano now who may reach 50 in Texas whereas Arod may struggle for 35

Very true. It's going to be really interesting seeing what A-rod's Batting average ends up looking like considering he struggled to bat .300 the last 2 years...

I'd say Soriano will have a green light to run. We'll see.
