Great article. I completely agree with their analysis, Lincecum is either going to be great or above average or average or below average. Anyone thinking he won't fall into one of those categories hasn't seen what he is capable of.

Some people think he will be above below average but not quite average. I think he will be above above average. Which I suppose means he still falls under above average. So yeah, I guess the writer covered most of the bases here.

for some reason I chose to trade Lincecum this offseason instead of Cain. Maybe because of a more solid build for Cain, simpler mechanic. Or just what I think are better potential. We shall see.

if i had to choose one at this point in time itd be cain as well...he has more major league time under his belt and is younger than lincecum...don't get me wrong, i absolutely love lincecum and think he has a great chance at living up to his hype, but cain is definitely the more solid, safer pitcher

Cain has some pretty mediocre peripherals, if he gets traded to a park that doesn't hold his HR's he'll be a 4+ ERA guy unless he improves his control. I like Cain(in a pure pitchers park at least) but I don't think I could keep him over Lincecum.

If he can keep his control from the 2nd half of last year I agree with you. Of course he'll be awesome with fewer K's than Lincecum and they'll both get about 10 wins.
