Why doesn't Piazza have a contract yet?

Seems like he can still hit, would be a good fit as a DH/part time Catcher. Anyone know anything about his status and if/where he is likely to play this year?

Seems like teams think they can get that level of mediocrity without have to pay above major league minimum.
Not sure who would want a part-time DH.
