There is no lack of love for Billingsley in this thread, these are the best young arms in baseball and he's right in the middle of most peoples rankings, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Is that a joke? You think Lincecum, Cain and Billingsley will be better than Carlos Zambrano? I could easily make the argument that Zambrano has been the most consistent pitcher in the NL over the past five years. All six of these candidates would be lucky to sniff the kind of success Z has had in Chicago. Sub 4.00 ERA, 30+ starts, 200+ innings, 13+ wins over each of the past 5 years. No one besides Cain has even sniffed those numbers.
Sorry, but somebody's gotta get the Baby Bull's back. He is an absolute ace and a great value pick this year.
Is there anything fluffier than a cloud? If there is, I don't want to know about it.
None of them have done enough yet to make me rank anyone but Felix on top. Bills being ranked last is more out of ignorance right now because I've never seen him pitch but seems like a nice candidate to break out based on numbers and scouting reports.
Let me first say that for the most part they are all pretty close IMO. Also I think Bailey deserves to be in there, but I understand he hasnt logged many innings and his debut wasnt that promising last season (though I think it was more due to injury).
1 - Felix - I refuse to believe someone with his talent won't be the best, it could happen but he is just to good. 2a - Billingsley - Seems to always get underrated but I like everything about him, his drive IMO might be the best out of everyone on this list. 2b - Cain - I just think Bills has more drive and "pitches" more so than Cain. 4 - Lincecum - 4th? man I must hate him for as much hype as he gets. Honestly he could be as high as #2 or as low as #6 IMO, need to see more of him and how he progresses in his 2nd year. 5 - Hughes - Not higher due to injuries 6 - Gallardo - Weird to have him at 6th, but I just think everyone else is better or has shown more up to date. Like Lincecum could be higher.

A lot of people (myself included) think that Zambrano has already had the best years of his career and it is all downhill from here. He might stick at his 2007 stats for a few more years but then he is an over 4 ERA innings eater. I fully understand the opinion he gave of an early ace who fades early.
