Mags, Books do u recommend?

What magazines I picked up rotowires preview and what others do u recommend?Last year I bought the Baseball prospectus.Just looking for suggestions.

I thumbed through Rotowire the other day at Target and I wasn't very impressed. Cano as the #2 2B really stuck out to me. I think you can find some really good things on-line so I wouldn't bother with the mags or books.

Baseball Prospectus 08, if you are in to indepth stats.
I have fanballs.com magazine and I really like it, but I usually buy almost every magazine just for reading material to get me occupied, because school textbooks are boring.

But your at the right place for information though.

i've thumbed through a bunch of them but i like lindy's the best. it gives you a breakdown of the player values by position. and i agree brandon phillips should be ahead of cano.

I'd stay away from Rotowire. Sporting News is usually pretty good.

Sporting News is great. It is a really good read too.

I recommend these if you want to get a bit more depth. Both Forecaster and Prospectus explain where they get their predictions from in way more detail than I've ever seen in any magazine. I think that this will help give you a better sense of how to value players yourself. The lessons in these books will be ones that you can 'recycle' year after year after year.

Plus, it will also serve as a larger set of 'antlers' at your draft as the other managers will have a couple of puny mags and you will have a giant book to wave around. You can look stuff up (or even pretend to look stuff up...), mumble stuff like 'woah, nice pick' or 'yikes, I would never take him there' and drive people nuts w/ the sensation that you have something they don't.
