NEW SPORTSLINE H2H, AUCTION DRAFT, CONTRACT, DYNASTY LEAGUE

Postby Britishchuk » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:17 pm

Ive started a 16 team, H2H, dynasty league. Auction Draft, Contracts, all on sportsline. So far we have 8 teams, looking for 8 more.

Entry fee is $108 ($100 to the prizepool + $8 to cover sportsline's cost)
Many ways to win your money back and then some...
$50 for division winners
$50 for MVP
$50 for Cy Young
$50 for Rookie of the Year
$100 for league manager of the year (Voted on by league - Cant vote for your own team)
$700 for league champ
$300 for runner up

Any additional money from luxury tax collected will be split 75%/25% evenly amoung league winner and runner up respectively.

Ive tried to make this league as realistic as possible to running a real MLB club. Therefor there are probably some settings you may not be used to. In order to take the element of luck out of things, each team will play 5 H2H matchups a week. Daily lineup changes. 1 SP per day. 3 RP per day. Ive had people comment "well, what if I have Zambrano and Peavy going on the same day"....Well, if you were a major league club, you wouldnt throw two aces on the same day, so to keep it realistic this is the way it is. There is also a luxury tax. Salary Cap is $100. You can go over that, but you will pay a luxury tax. Ive included a break down of it below:

Luxury Tax: In order to keep players contracts at a reasonable rate

$1.00 - $100.00 = No Luxury Tax
$100.01 - $120.00 = $100 in Luxury Tax
$120.01 - $150.00 = $150 in Luxury Tax
$150.01 - $200.00 = $200 in Luxury Tax
$200.01 - $999.99 = $300 in Luxury Tax
To Clear up any confusion... If you are in the first bracket of Luxury tax and you make a trade that puts you into the second bracket, you do not owe an additional $150, rather you only need make up the difference between the dollar value in the first bracket and the second.....So you would only owe $50 more. All luxury tax's must be paid before the move that puts your team over the salary cap can be completed.

If a team does not pay the luxury tax durring the draft portion of the season, They will loose that player to the second highest bidder.

Other than that, everything is fairly similiar to any other league.

Im not looking for anyone with any certain level of expertise, im not one of those commissioners thats a nazi about how you run your team. Its your team, you paid for it, you can do what you please. If you want to be Steinbrenner and the yankees and overpay for the best talent... go for it. If you want to be the marlins and keep your contracts to league minimum, good luck.
