If you had to choose between McGee and Parker, which one would you go with and why?

McGee because he'll be up possibly 2 seasons earlier is really my only reason since it's not like Parker can't be either as good or better than McGee.

McGee is only a year or so away from the bigs. Parker is probably around 3 years away. For those reasons alone, you have to take McGee who btw has the stuff to be a very good starter in the bigs.

On baseballamerica they have McGee projected as their future closer, so that may figure into your calculations

I still go with McGee tho as he should be a much safer investment, who knows what can happen with Parker

In my league I'd take Parker (and have) because it doesn't hurt to have players that won't be up for 3 more years.

If you can afford to wait a few years I'd take Parker because he has the stuff to be better than McGee and he'll be pitching in a much weaker division.

If you need more immediate impact, take the safer pick in McGee. He has great stuff, but he's a little inconsistent. It will be interesting to see how he does in the upper minors this season.

right now i would take McGee because i expect him to contribute sooner than Parker. I do love Parkers arm though and wouldn't be surprised if he got some action not this year but the following year in the bullpen. Come 3-4 years from now i wouldn't be surprised to see McGee as a solid 3rd starter, with Parker looking like a future ace

Sure McGee is closer to the bigs. But he'll most likely be playing for TB. If you believe in 1-2 years the Rays will finally have arrived take McGee for sure. But if you have time to wait, barring a trade, Parker will be pitching in the NL which, to me, is a much more attractive proposition. Just something to think about. But they both have a lot of talent obviously.
