Dynasty Trade- hold up is a minor leaguer (Schafer)

Postby AEMRICH » Sat Feb 02, 2008 4:26 pm

Hey guys i know this is the minors forum but my trade problem involves Jordan Schafer. I'm in an 18team dynasty h2h. I'm deep in the minor leaguers but need a little help with my offense now. i've been offered Travis Hafner for Wily Mo Pena, Scott Olsen, Jordan Schafer. i would get Hafner. my current offesne looks like this
C- Salty 1B: Billy Butler 2B: Erik Aybar 3B: Encarnicion SS: Betancourt OF: Sheffield, Kemp, Pie UTIL: Wily Mo, Jose Bautista

my minors offensive minors look like this
Bruce, Rasmus, Marrero, Snider, Heyward, Schafer, Antonelli, Rowell, Desmond Jennings, Austin Jackson, Gerrardo Parra, Eric Patterson

so my problem is Schafer who i have read is a 30/30 threat who can hold his own at the plate, has nice speed, good power, good average, and a great defender. What would you do? If i could get Clayton Mortensen also would that change your mind?

Schafer could be a stud, but you have two guys that are closer that appear to be studs in the making in Bruce and Rasmus. Don't let Schafer hold you back from getting Pronk so cheap.

Exactly....with what you have in the minors you should have no problem letting him go for Hafner. ;-D

I agree with the others, as good as Schafer should/will be I would make the deal for Hafner.

You should use your surplus on minor league talent not only to feed your team from within (Bruce/Rasmus), but you should also take advantage of them and feed your team in trades (Schafer deal for Hafner). A good example in "real" MLB would be what the Tigers did this offseason in acquiring M.Cab and Dontrelle.
