It's going to be an interesting battle over at third base for the fish. McPherson has the most upside out of all the candidates, but how soon we forget about how Jorge Cantu batted in 2005.

I think the fish are hoping that between the two of them they can reasonable production out of 3B. both could succeed but both could easily fail spectacularly.

I agree with Ender on this. At BEST, he is a plattoon player if healthy...Cantu and Castillo are righties available to play 3b...and really the best option might be Amezaga! His on base isn't great, but it will still be 30 points higher than the other lame choices...and he has some speed to steall 15-20 over 400 AB.

Really, Florida 3b is a situation to stay far, far away from!

Cantu showed flashes of being a capable hitter during his stay in Cincy. I think he could be a pretty solid platoon player (not sure of his splits).
