This guy looks like a stud. I read his scouting report on mlb.com and thought he looked awesome. Then I looked at his stats on milb.com and WOWWW!!!

Does anyone have any additional insight on this guy? It seems like we will probably start hearing his name mentioned more among the top SPs.

I have read that he will be a middle to end of the rotation type of guy. high 80s low 90s fastball, with good secondary pitches. Considering his system and his projection, I think he is not very fantasy worthy.
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.

He is fresh out of high school. You dont think these pitches could progress into plus pitches by the time he reaches MLB? I saw Project Prospect said he was a high upside LHP. Just trying to get a read on him. Thanks for any insight.

There isn't alot being said about him from what I hear....everything I do hear is temper expectations because he is a soft thrower...something like a Zach Duke. Should be fun to follow though....if he can get stronger and gain another 2-3 mph on everything then his value could really rise. We'll see....

He struck out 63 batters in 37 innings pitched in rookie ball out of H.S. in 2007.

His delivery makes me cringe, I'll be shocked if he doesnt have any injuries and/or control problems in the next few years (already kind of does - 4.10 BB/9).

I have never seen him throw before (only have seen numbers), do you think his wild delivery is what is leading to those strikeout numbers in Rookie ball?

HE is not really a soft tosser especially if hes throwing 89-92 and topping out at 95. And thats really good for a lefty. High upside, with a nice fastball, curve, a slider but his change is nonexistant. Some say he might develop more velocity with his fastball once he fills out. The only problem with him is his delivery, doesnt repeat his motion at all.

If he repeats his deliver and refines his curve and gets a usable changeup, hes a number 2 or 3.

He has god stuff but I think it defiantly helps, it's a bit jerky and looks hard to pick up.
