HEADLINES: Mighty Casey Goes to Boston

Postby DRAFTAHOLIC » Fri Feb 01, 2008 2:44 pm

Sean Casey signed a one year deal and the signing of Casey puts to mind the question, "are they trying to protect Ortiz?". Yes Ortiz is a DH but he does play 1st from time to time, usually during interleague play. So when will Casey play? Lowell will play third and youkilis will play first and I am sure that Ortiz will play first during most interleague games. So, what is the need to sign Sean Casey other than to have a back up should David Ortiz, Mike Lowell or Kevin Youkilis get hurt.

If Casey is okay with that then welcome aboard.

I welcome any further takes on this signing.
