In Real baseball, the top team in each divison goes to the playoffs, and the team that doesn't get 1st, but has best record for all 2nd place teams, goes as the wild card.

the team with the best team record plays the wild card team, and the other 2 teams play each other. This is called the LDS, its a best out of 5.

The next round, the two teams that won the LDS, go the LCS, which is a best out of 7.

the next round is the World series, a best out of 7
