Both guys are more known for their defensive prowess, rather than their offensive output.
I would take Teagarden. I know you said not to consider position, but it is down right impossible to ignore. Dominguez is average to below average offense for a fantasy third baseman. I think Teagarden could be average to above average fantasy catcher. Plus he is a lot closer.
