And well yes, if the Jets faced any 18-0 team in the Super Bowl, I would root for the Jets as well. But this situation hardly ever happens. And I think most people would want the 18-0 team beaten in the Super Bowl.
Mostly for the Manning thing, yeah.

To be fair, he said he's rooting for the Pats this year. It was in '07 that he was rooting for the Giants, which as you said above, any NFL fan would have been rooting against the Pats that year.

Oh, he did. That's my bad. Sorry about that!
Hypothetical- Who do you root for, an 18-0 team in the Super Bowl or a divisional rival going for the NFL Super Bowl wins record? This will most likely never happen. Just curious.

Might be different for fans of other teams, but after having 19-0 so close and it slipping away, its the divisional rival for me. The Super Bowl wins record can be caught up to at some point (if not by your own team, another one will surely do it. We're not talking about the Yankees who have more than double of the next closest team). 19-0 is something that, if completed, might never happen again.
This has a major drawback: now ESPN will spend like 25 more hours debating the HOF worthiness of Manning (both of them) as a result of last night's contest.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao

I stayed away from ESPN for the 2 weeks before the game, and I think it made the game itself that much more enjoyable.
Of course, now that I think about it, I haven't watched that much ESPN period since NFL/MLB Networks came about.
