No seriously though they are not doing well as a company and just announced that they will layoff roughly 10,000 employees. Anyone see this affecting fantasy baseball this year? The last thing I want to deal with is delays.

I'm anxious to see their rankings. Not necesarrily b/c I want to follow them, but since so many other people do follow them it will help me format a draft strategy.
I think it was mid-Feb last year.
Since my draft is scheduled March 22nd, I suppose I'm jumping the gun.

They'll get the signups ready by mid-February but all bets are off about the quality of their service during the season.
Who knows though, Yahoo! has typically opened their leagues earlier and earlier each year but I remember signups for basketball didn't open until like 3 weeks before the season.
I don't think the sports sections of Yahoo are in too much danger. That is still a facet of the internet that they have a strong grip on, especially fantasy sports. It is more likely the divisions that will be cut are things like Yahoo 360 and Yahoo Auctions were they are being obliterated by other sites.
It seemed to me like the updated numbers were a bit slow during this last football season. I can remember being at a bar watching the games the last few weeks of the season, and not having my team point updates until after 11:30 or so.
Just curious...what updates are you talking about?
I have subscribed to Yahoo's Stattracker for a few years now and have been surprisingly pleased with the service. If you haven't tried it before, I would actually recommend it.
Or maybe you weren't talking about individual stats and meant ranks for players....

Yeah a few days delay in you getting registered to play Yahoo FBB is way more important than the 10,000 people who are going to lose their jobs

Updates meaning rookies and players available, position eligibility, daily stats etc.
Been playing on CBS for 5 yrs and I think their site is tops. Last yr I purposely played all the main sites: My main league on CBS, one on Yahoo, and an ESPN one. After the yr, I can easily say CBS is still the best. The downside is that is is expensive ($130/yr). But shared over the entire league it works out to about $11/team, i.e. 12 team league.
