HEADLINES: SANTANA GOES TO METS OFFICIAL

Postby DRAFTAHOLIC » Tue Jan 29, 2008 5:56 pm

I am curious what anyone here thinks of the trade. Mets get Santana for four prospects.

TOPIC #1: The National League needed some pitching help for the All Star Game.

TOPIC #2: The Met's become a better team all around but they will be starved for trade options down the road.

TOPIC #3: How happy will Pedro be?

As a METS fan.....I am doing backflips!!! We get the best pitcher in baseball for at least 3 years of his prime, we don't have to give up the #1 prospect in the organization, two of the P prospects will not be better than #3's and the other one is in A ball. Are you kidding?? I would always take an established pitching STUD over handfuls of pitching "prospects". I really like this deal and it was SOOOOO needed!

GO METS!!!!

WILL SANTANA GO THE WAY OF AROD?

Postby DRAFTAHOLIC » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:02 pm

Remember Boston let Alex Rodriguez go will the Met's make the mistake of not giving Santana the money asked for or will they sign him no matter what?

One more question. Will the Santana trade go down as one of the worst in MLB history? The Mets received a steal in my opinion.

Probably not the worst trade ever, but its down there.

The Mets WILL pay up. No way in hell they don't pay.

Nice triple post btw... Something called an "edit" button. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

"Learn it. Use it. Love it?" I think you are a product of the 80's. Dare I say "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"?

This makes up for the mistake that the mets made a few years ago, trading Kazmir for V. Zambrano... just think if they still had kazmir...

When this trade took place I was able to trade Santana and I did ok.
Santana for Beckett
Arroyo for Halladay
Billy Butler for a 15th round pick in our league we can keep minor leaguers on major league roster for 3 years. We can only keep 3 keepers per year.
I traded my 2nd pick that I had picked up in 15th round for
1st pick of minor league draft. We can have 3 minor leaguers.
so I now have 1.3 and 1.7 pick in first round.

Go Reds.
