Dynasty League Takeover - Please Help

Postby Santana4Cy » Wed Jan 23, 2008 7:02 am

I recently took over a dynasty league team. Each team in the league is allowed to have 6 minor leaguers on their roster. The minor leaguers on the roster I took over are pretty solid, in my opinion. I've got Joba Chamberlain, Joey Votto, Daric Barton, Matt LaPorta, Travis Snider and Manny Parra.

I've been told that if I am unsatisfied with any of these players, I can drop them and draft/pick-up a new player when the ML/FA draft is over. Below is a list of the players who are not available:

Cameron Maybin
Evan Longoria
Justin Upton
Brandon Wood
Homer Bailey
Jacoby Ellsbury
Carlos Gonzalez
Scott Elbert
Fernando Martinez
Andrew McCutchen
Clay Buchholz
Andy LaRoche
Micah Owings
David Price
Rick Porcello
Clayton Kershaw
Jay Bruce
Wade Davis
Tyler Davis
Colby Rasmus
Matt Weiters
Alan Horne
Franklin Morales
Adam Jones
Christopher Marrero
Adam Miller
Kosuke Fukudome
Hiroki Kuroda
Max Scherzer
Reid Brignac
Mike Moutstakas
Ian Stewart
Carlos Triunfel
Nick Adenhart
Josh Vitters
Luke Hochevar
Edinson Volquez
Ian Kennedy
Jarrod Parker
Gio Gonzalez
Jacob McGee
Jeff Clement
Johnny Cueto
Chase Headley
Carlos Carrasco
Lars Anderson
Fautino de Los Santos
Ross Detwiler
Daniel Moskos
Jed Lowrie
Jesus Montero
Eric Hurley
J.R. Towles
Asdrubal Cabrera
Jose Tabata
Angel Villalona
Jordan Schafer
Desmond Jennings
Jair Jurrjens
Justin Huber
Chris Davis

I know this is a very long post, but is there anyone out there, still available, that I should look to grab over Manny Parra or Matt LaPorta?

I appreciate any help I get.

You might want to check out some of the dynastys here at the cafe and look at the minors roster and drafts from there. Might be a big help! ;-D

Without combing the list too carefully, I'd keep what you've got. I wouldn't want to give up Manny Parra because he'll be in the big leagues and has been effective. With only six roster spots for minor leaguers, you can certainly find quality prospects at any time so I wouldn't worry about there being a gem that was overlooked too much.

I'd take Ubaldo Jimenez (SP, COL) over Parra for sure for sure for sure...

Also, I'm not big on Barton, I see him becoming a VERY average firstbasemen, ala Sean Casey. I'd probably drop him and go for the scarcity in Geovany Soto...

There are a couple of good prospects missing - just go to BA and look at the team top 10's (really top 3 or 5 matter most) and cross check your list...
