1. Field of Dreams, which has what I think is the greatest scene in a baseball movie when Ray gets a chance to play catch with his Dad.
2. Bull Durham, I'm an old catcher and my daughters always thought there was some similarities between my game and Costner's (except for his movie star good looks)
3. Pride of the Yankees, gotta put my wife's favorite movie on the list.

How about a stinker? "For Love of the Game." Ugh! Kevin Costner went to the well one too many times with that pile. And the catcher, played by John C. Reilly, are you kidding me? He looks like a used-car salesman with ZERO athletic ability.

Speaking of awkward-looking actors, I liked Bull Durham but Tim Robbins looked like a knob as a "supposedly" fastball-throwing young stud. His windup was weak. Charlie Sheen looked a lot better athletically in Major League. Costner was solid and believable in Bull Durham. He reminds me of Dan Wilson.

I know I will probably catch some flack for this, but the natural sucked ass! it had great actors yes, but the writing was horrible!!!
they used every weak-ass movie cliche in the book. it did have some great parts but overall... BTW how does a weak stomach lining= blood on his jersy at the end? how does a ball hit into the lights= all the lights in the park exploding? how do they not remove the bullet when he gets shot? and finally, in the book Roy Hobbs takes the money to throw the game... my list for the record...
