We started a keeper league last year at Yahoo, and we decided to move to CBS. So far, it looks pretty good, but I'm having issues with the keeper options. As far as setting keeper policy, CBS's Help Panel says:
Go to the Setup/Draft & Rosters area. The link to set your keeper policy is located on the bottom of the page.
But it's not there. And as far as how to replace draft picks with keeper players, it says:
Go to SETUP/DRAFT&ROSTERS/SET DRAFT ORDER/CUSTOMIZE DRAFT ORDER from there you can replace draft picks with keeper selections.
But I don't see anything there. Is it because we weren't at CBS last year, so we don't have our players in the system? I'd really like to avoid having to "script" the first few rounds of the draft to get keepers onto the right team, because I fear one of the owners will make a mistake.
If you're the commissioner of the league as far as Sportsline is concerned, you should see on the bottom of the page, "Set Keeper Policy" ... that allows you to decide if you set which players they keep or they do. But it looks like it only keeps players already on the roster, so what you should do first is start waivers from the Add/Drop page (it's also on the bottom of the page) and then have everyone pick up their keepers pre-draft.

You may not start waivers until rosters have been set. Once you have conducted an online or automated draft, or entered the results of an offline draft, you may then start waivers.
from setup, choose the, "draft & rosters". from the drop-down menu of how you're doing your draft, choose, "By On-Line, Live Draft (All in One Day)" once you get to that page, set the date, etc., for your draft on the bottom of the page, hit, "Set Draft Order" from that page, hit, "Set Customized Draft Order"
hmmm.... now is where you would run into a snag. at this point, with my league, i can replace teams' picks with players on their rosters. but i can't replace them with any free agent. so i think the answer to your question is no, you can't do it because this is your first year on cbs. and you can't do one type of draft (offline) to enter the keepers and then do another (on-line) to do the real draft. or actually..... maybe you can. i think that's your best bet, actually.
just checked. that's exactly it.
first, tell it you want to fill your rosters with an Off-line Draft Results. then, put in everyone's keepers. then, tell it you want to do an on-line draft. then, follow the above so that everyone's keepers are their first whatever rounds of draft picks.
good luck!
