I posted over in the keeper section, but figured I'd post here too... This is the first time I've posted in the Minor/College section so I'm not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree...
I am up for my last minor league pick currently... My ML system consists of the following guys as of now: Adam Jones Colby Rasmus Felix Pie Lastings Milledge Travis Snider Matt LaPorta Jose Tabata Clayton Kershaw Franklin Morales Bill Rowell Geovany Soto J.R. Towles
I'd like to add another arm to my system... The two that I like the best are Neftali Feliz and Choyre Spoone... My problem with Feliz is the Rangers - I feel that the Rangers mishandle their pitching prospects worse than any other team around, period. John Danks. Edison Volquez. Thomas Diamond. Eric Hurley. Kasey Kiker. Armando Galarraga. Juan Domingez. John Hudgins. ALL WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. They all turn out to be waiver wire fodder AT BEST. IMO, the Rangers are the worst team to pick a SP from...
That said, the reason I'm asking for help is because I actually like Feliz a little bit better than Spoone... I'm looking for other opinions and the consensus here... The only other thought I had was Chin-Lung Hu who is still available, and as I have no SS in my system and only Guillen on my major league squad does he make sense over an arm?
No, that list is who I already currently own... The list now is: Neftali Feliz Choyre Spoone Chin-Lung Hu
Does anyone know if the Rangers are planning on making Feliz a reliever? He's my #1, but if he's going to be a reliever I won't touch him as that's against my personal policy (not to draft ML relief guys).
I think with any of those you are shooting in the dark. I have heard that Volquez might get a chance to start this season but that doesn't mean he will be worth anything. Hurley is a better bet if you want to go for a texas SP. There is always a chance that that player gets traded so I would go with the best player and not worry about where he plays.

wow. considering how good you list currently is, i'd be very surprised if those were the best pitching options remaining. there must be others available. have you checked minorleagueball.com or projectprospect.com or baseballamerica.com? there is some useful stuff on all of them to help you figure out who you might want.
I use BA, minorleagueball, Project prospect, Mound Talk, Baseball Prospectus, milb.com, Diamond Cutter, Get Sports Info, CBS, Sports Illustrated and the baseball cube and virtually every team specific page or blog that you can think of, among others...
This is very late in the draft... There are currently over 180 minor leaguers taken, so no, there aren't better arms available than these guys... The only other pitcher that comes close for me is Deolis Guerra and maybe Brett Sinkbeil.
So, if the new list is: Neftali Feliz Choyre Spoone Deolis Guerra Brett Sinkbeil (doesn't K enough for me to think he'll succeed at the major league level). Chin-Lung Hu
