Kazmir avoided arbitration and signed a deal just over 3.7 million. Pena gets his deal, and now the Rays are looking at locking up Jamie Shields in a 6 year deal . Where is the criticism now

I think the possible Shields signing is just to keep the FO sane the rest of the year. Kazmir is going to be the tough one to sign, but signing Shields and Pena could go along way to getting Kaz to sign the dotted line.

I definitely agree. He is already under contract through that term for less money. I think it is to show guys like Kazmir and the fans that they are serious about keeping the team together and winning
