Not at all. He makes 6 this year than 8 than 10. If he gets us the 30+ it was a great investment because it is cheaper than other 1B that produce that amount
IF, like you said. Pena had a solid year last year, but that was a lot of money and IF he continues to perform then its great. But if he slumps and starts playing like he did before last year than he is just another Greg Vaughn.
Pena doesn't have to have another 2007 season to earn 8 million a year. 30 homers, 100 rbis, and a 275 average will pretty much earn his 8 mill in this market. This contract only being 3 years opens up a huge door for one Mr. Pedro Alvarez as well.

I hope. Many of the draft pundits have us taking a SS out of HS. I want Alvarez

Been reading Callis a bit huh. Callis is pretty good, but usually in the offseason he goes overboard just a bit. Beckham will have to have a huge year to be considered for the top pick considering what is available at the college level. I would think Alvarez or Matusz would be our pick.

Solid pitcher, but for some reason I doubt he has ace stuff. One above average pitch doesn't usually get you the #1 pick in the draft. If he can improve on a off speed pitch, then maybe he has a shot at #1.

Yea, I am hoping to see him improve this season. I think he will, right now he isn't worth the spot, but I think he will
