New $150 5X5 Roto League-12 Teams

I am starting up a 5X5 roto league with the usual categories (AVG, R, HR, RBI, SB) + (W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP). The draft will be a live snake draft. The buy in will be $150 and ALL of it will be paid out in league prizes. The league will be run on Yahoo!. I'm looking to make it a 12 team league but will settle for 10 if necessary.

The league rosters are as followed:
C,1B,2B,SS,3B,MI,CI,OF,OF,OF,Util,Util
SP,SP,SP,SP,RP,RP,P,P,P
BN,BN,BN,BN,BN,DL,DL

Lineups will be set weekly. Trade reviews will be done by league vote. There will be no max on moves made or trades. There will also be no limit on games played per position or innings pitched.

Payouts:
1st Place- $1,000
2nd Place- $500
3rd Place- $300

sounded okay until i read that. that's going to be a deal breaker for most people. seriously, i think you are asking for trouble with the no IP limit.

what we have done in the past was too add tb/w or ops to batting cats and add hr/allowed to pitching as a category. just an idea if you prefer not to have innings limit.

I'm interested if you put in an IP limit. With 9 spots where at least 2 must be RP's, 1400 IP max is a great limit for a league of this size.

I am interested if rules are as posted. 5x5 league with no limitations. In a 5x5 you don't need AB or IP limitations as it will hurt you in two categories if you try to keep your IP low (K and W).

Also, how are free agents distributed. I like FAAB budgets personally.

The 'free' yahoo leagues don't allow you to set minimum limits for IP, so my assumption is that this discussion centers around maximum IP.

Here's my stance on this. As far as I'm concerned, if a guy wants to stream 2 start pitchers to be high in W's and K's, thats their call. that means its very likely they will be at the bottom of the barrel in WHIP and ERA. Thats whats great about fantasy baseball, everybody has different strategies. There will not be an inning limit or minimum in this league. Thats one thing that is set in stone.

EDIT*- Regarding FA's, there will just be the traditional FA pool with all players available to pick up freely unless put on waivers after a player is dropped.

I think the weekly lineup change system should limit the churning possability with no IP limit so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
