I don't know. I'm biased but if both are 100% Rolen is the better player IMO. No matter what this is going to come down to which player is healthier and plays more the next few years.

I would say this is true, but that's the thing: Rolen is a giant question mark.

Between his health problems and the ongoing feud with LaRussa this move seemed inevitable, but at least we were able to get something real in return unlike the Edmonds trade.

Yeah, it was a shame that Rolen and LaRussa couldn't get along. Sad to see him go.

I def think Rolen is the better of the two in a static environment. Unfortunately, Rolen can't stand playing for LaRussa, so he was never going to be in a "static" environment. I'm just glad we got something that has potential value in return. Most teams that have dissatisfied players on the level of Rolen end up dumping them for something like... oh... I don't know... Polanco and Bud Smith.

Yeah they could have gotten a lot less for Rolen, say Capuano.

Polanco is a good player just don't trade him for a RP that ends up in a Venezuelan prison.
