Draft Order?

I'm starting a new league on CBS and was wondering how you guys determine a draft order? Does CBS randomize the order?

We usually use an internet dice roller. You can search Google for one.

Here is a cool way to do it... I have done this for the last five years... a little different, but the guys seem to like it.

Go to lottery dot com, and find 12 states that have an evening pick three or daily number drawing. Assign each of your managers a state. Choose one night to check all of those states.

The lowest number gets to go first... so here in Penn, if the Daily Number is 232 on Feb 28th, then I might draft fourth... behind three guys whose states came up 057, 118, and 207.

The number 999 will go last of course.

Very random, and not really prone to ties. My draft usually starts two or three days after this date. If it is a slow live draft, we are talking early March. We usually go the next to last weekend in March for a fast live draft.

Again, Lottery dot com tells you the daily lottery numbers for every state with a lottery. Just be careful. Some bordering states use the same drawing (Maybe VT and NH, something like that) so make sure you use states that have their own drawings or at the very least make sure two of your managers aren't getting the same drawing.

In case of a tie, then use the early evening drawing, or the midday drawing.. or the number from the previous day. Decide ahead of time.

Never played on CBS but, if you do an online draft, I would think that they would randomize it for you. Otherwise, you could use this:

try the "Kentucky Derby" draft. what we usually do is we pick cards (ace-10) in a ten team league. now, whoever picked the ace gets to choose their draft position first, whoever pulls the 2 card gets to pick their position next and so on. it makes it alot more fun and interesting when you essentially get to choose where to draft....give it a try
