I was disappointed with the show personally. The original was much better...at least the gladiators were much better! Maybe as the years go buy the gladiators will get better at each competition but they have been disappointing to this point.

...what the hell is the point of the "log roll" in the eliminator....looks like you could roll 1 time and jump off and save time instead of rolling all the way down 3 or 4 times?

the whole thing seems quite a bit more cheesy than the original....maybe its because I'm older now??

MediaLifeMagazine.com reports that last night's American Gladiators premier on NBC drew a very strong rating:

“American Gladiators” averaged a 5.9 adults 18-49 rating from 9 to 11 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, becoming the highest-rated new show on any network this year and generating NBC's best non-sports numbers in the timeslot in more than three years.

The NBC show, which moves to its regular timeslot tonight, peaked with a 6.1 during its final half hour at 10:30 after averaging a 5.5 in its first half hour. That helped NBC finish within a tenth of a point of leaders ABC and CBS for the night.

So cheesy... I skipped through the interviews/comments and just watched the competition. Assault is the best and they should have an entire program dedicated to this event. I enjoyed the show but not sure if I will watch every show. It is no MXC.

MXC is only good because of the voice overs. Do you think the Japanese will make fun of AG? :-D

No, they won't waste their time with it.

Mostly because they've already got amazing gameshows like Human Tetris

MXC is funny even without the voice overs IMO.

Human Tetris is hilarious. Never seen that one before. :-D

Yeah, I miss that show. Our cable people dumped G4 a few months ago.

Only the fittest of the fit need apply to run those courses, especially that 3rd one.
