Crush is Gina Carano, one of the top female fighters (OK there aren't that many ) in the world. Didn't realize she was on the show going into it. Her next fight is in February on Showtime.

Knew she looked familiar.

Overall, I thought the show was nice for nostalgia's sake.

BTW, Toa looks more like Umaga than Rock's cousin.

Was it just me or did all the Gladiators seem to suck? I missed the first hour but watched the 2nd and the Gladiators just didn't seem to be all that to me.

The Marine chick owned a few of the female gladiators during several events, she looked much tougher than any of them. During the old school show, if a gladiator grabbed on the rings you were going in the water; the female gladiator who was supposed to be a specialist in that event was terrible despite that supposedly being her specialty.

My favorites in the old days were Powerball and Assault, and they managed to screw them both up in this new version (by giving the buckets wider openings and making the guys load up the guns instead of just pointing and shooting).

They slowed down Assault way too much. plus one guy could not even figure out how to fire the gun.

I have really appreciated some of the big hits this show has delivered. That Pyramid game is just loaded with hits and takedowns. I liked the one where the female gladiator held on to the challenger and they tumbled all the way down - although I noticed this can give the challenger a chance to break away.

I also noticed that the Eliminator truly is an eliminator. Just finishing it is an accomplishment in and of itself. How about the marine chick finishing the eliminator all bloodied?
