Nick Swisher to White Sox...

Postby Verminator » Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:17 pm

It is only logical that I start a thread on Nick Swisher, considering I have him on my roster in my keeper league and I am a White Sox fan.

How will the new digs in Chicago impact his fantasy value? He'll be hitting ahead of Konerko, Thome, and Dye... but assuming all three players will be healthy or productive or on the team in '08 is a stretch. Also, ole' Comiskey is a much more hitter friendly ballpark... and Swisher does have a high OBP (scored 52 runs in the second half of last year). Plus, he'll be 27 this year.

I don't know... forgive me for questioning his ability to get 40 HRs, 100 RBI, 120 runs scored this year... I guess I see more of the Swisher '07 in the future. :-t

Perhaps he'll shoot up draft boards based solely on his upside and I can get some value out of him in a trade before keeper cut down day! ;-D
When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.

Swisher's move to a great hitter's park -- especially for homers -- should help. I always liked him & certainly wish him the best to breakout in the 40 HR range in 2008. You related that you already own him in your Keeper League so this is for other GM's.... If you draft him, just make sure you draft him for his Power, not his Average. I believe he will go as a No. 2 first baseman or No. 3 outfielder in mixed leagues.

Swisher is slowly becoming more patient at the dish which decreases his HR's and strike outs however with the sox lineup pitchers cant pitch around everyone he will be blasting HR's i guess low 30's. His Roto value is nice just wish he could steal some bases to make him elite. 8-o

i thought i read that some where.
