What is the easiest way to hook up the Wii to the internet?

I have wireless, but it doesn't work very well. I'd rather just connect via a hard wire.

My computer is in the same room as the Wii, what is the easiest way to connect via a wired setup and what accessories would I need to buy?

If the computer is in the same room then I would just get a router. You plug the modem into the internet slot, plug a wire from the computer into a slot, and the Wii into another slot. All you should need is the router and a few ethernet cables.

If you already have a wireless network though, then you probably already have a wireless router, in which case you just need to plug the Wii into the router.

If you don't already have a router, they're pretty cheap if you get one without a wireless antenna.

We do have a wireless network, but I have my computer hard wired because our wireless connection sucks. Constantly going in and out.

The other issue is if I plug the Wii into the router, I have to run a really long cord around the house and down the stairs. But if I was to try and go that route (my only reason to hook up to the internet is to try and download some Virtual Console titles) I'd have to buy a seperate cord, correct?

That's what I'm thinking, too. If the wireless connection is so bad, why not just get a new router?

The router is new. Connection still sucks. Dunno why.

Then it is the router that is the problem. I would look to invest in one as more and more things will become wireless. Plus wireless has gotten so fast now that you really do not need a line.
