do you think his numbers may drop now that they are split with giambi and sheff among others and that he is now in yankee stadium and not texas?

maybe i am just superstitious, but i would have to say that if you both won your league last year, i would probably have to say, take the same draft pick tha tyou took last year. It seemed to work out just fine for ya.
Either that, or play in a league with more competition.

last year i took 7th pick and got schilling and giambi...ouch for me however i traded so much and just robbed my cocky friend blind that my team dominated. we are all smarter this year and all competing heavily to win.

I like fourth because the draft comes back to you with plenty of time to think about your next pick. With the first or the last pick you have to select two players at once and the draft takes a long time to come back. Personally I am leaning towards the fourth or the fifth slot.

8 team league?
Take #1 and A Rod. With your next two picks take best players available. Wells and Tejada would be good picks. With your next two picks you'll be able to pick up two nice SPs.

Nice idea, but what about in a 10 team league will Tejada or Garciapara be there in the second round if I took the first pick? What is the average draft position these two have been going in drafts thus far?

i'd take the third pick, hoping to get soriano. that would fill your 2b need (which is scarse). worst case scenario: you get pujols at 3...but if soriano drops to you there then you can get nomar/renteria/tejada in the second (you'd now have 2b and ss filled) and then you'd be pretty solid in the infield. i usually like this strategy because of the lack of depth at 2b.
