Any comments regarding my first sig (done with GIMP)? Any advice/opinions are greatly appreciated. It took me way longer than it should have (probably because I did not read the tutorial).
Thanks and Happy New Year!

my suggestions, especially for the first one, is to make the player much bigger, to recognize his face, etc...
what i do for backgrounds, and this is my personal preference, is to just use a picture in the background, and just add some effects to it. brush over it with a color on overlay, some gradients, etc... i stay away from brushes and abstract type bg's mostly.

Thanks for the advice about backgrounds. I'm also not big on highly abstract bg's. I'll try your suggestion next time.
Happy New Year.
no problem...keep working. practice is the only real way to get better and try new things....check out some of the tutorials here and other graphic websites. they really help out alot, but my only warning to you is to not follow them exactly or keep repeating them over and over. if they tell you to make something dark, try making it light, flip things around and find your own personal style and preferences. if you're using photoshop or even gimp to some extent, there are so many options and things to mess around with.
Made me chuckle when I saw it. Could use a splash of more color and it's probably my personal preference but I'd probably make the image of Atkins himself a little smaller, somewhere between where it is now and in The Atkins Diet sig. All in all good job though, keep it up.
