Any tips to breaking in a hat?

I learned everything I know about breaking in a hat from Funkmaster Flex.

So you guys are positive nothing bad can happen from wearing new hat in the shower or putting in the microwave? I wanna break it in but am reluctant to do these things to a D-Backs hat I paid $33 for.

There's no way I'd wear a new hat in the shower, or immerse it in water. That's foolishness if you ask me. Are you guys kidding about that, or do you actually do it?

cut out the support mesh. best done with those small nail-clipping scissors. its stuck to the inside of the fabric, so it can be a tedious process, but your box-head will disappear 100%.

Who mentioned a microwave??

I don't see how a microwave could help unless you watch it very carefully (assuming that this technique works). You will either have no water molecules to agitate or too many, if it is already wet.*

I make this statement not knowing if there is any water in a brand new hat.
