hes obviously declining in age, but a career .288 hitter with an ops of .882 vs righties is ok with me. especially if hes an above average defender. in cbp he should be able to hit .280 with 20-25 hr. im all for it.

Exactly, so that takes him out of the equation in many league formats. I agree he is a good sleeper in formats that allow you to platoon OF's and have 14 plus teams.

actually it would be fairly useful to use a bench spot on werth, and allow jenkins to start in one of your of spots if necessary. he is extremely efficient vs righties, and werth absolutely mashes lefties. granted in some leagues, bench spots are important and cannot be wasted, but in many leagues i think it would be ok. not just using werth, but maybe another player to use when jenkins is facing a lefty.
I would say it's an okay move for Philly, not good, not bad. He's clearly declining. His numbers last year were pretty disappointing to me considering that by and large he was protected in a platoon and didn't face lefties. He is a solid defensive player.
I love Geoff Jenkins the person, he was a hustler who went all-out and gave his all to Milwaukee for 10 years (a rarity). Once upon a time he was a heck of a hitter too. For his sake (and for me, a Jenkins fan), I hope he rebounds in a park that should be friendly to him.
I fear that the Philly fans will be harsh on him -- he's a notoriously streaky player who's severe uppercut swing can look absolutely pathetic for stretches of time (and ridiculously good for other stretches). That ballpark should suit him though. Overall, I suppose Philly could do worse.
