I was actually talking about a teen-round draft. I think there's enough of the risk takers who have been burned repeatedly by these two guys that they might slip low enough this year for me to draft strictly for upside.
damn, i was hoping the Astros would take a chance with him. I figure he chose the Padres over them as I would think the Astros would've offered a similar type deal.
Wow, that's all it took? How many teams do you think were bidding for him? That seems really low for a dominant pitcher who can't stay healthy. You'd think any team who considers themselves a contender this year would have thrown a half million more or so at him in base salary.

The "risk" for the Padres is that it's only a 1 year deal. If Prior somehow stays healthy, just imagine what kind of money he will be offered next year.
Wow that is really cheap, the cubs wouldn't take the chance and spend at least that much on him? Well the Pads are making a nice rotation out there and are doing it in style,
“Never argue with a idiot, because first they will bring you down to their level. Then beat you with experience.”
This really is an amazing deal for the Pads. I would've thought that even with the concerns about Prior, he could have got a bigger deal.
If he comes back anywhere near the production he was at, look for a big payday next season. Hopefully a 1 year deal will motivate him to show he still has the goods.
