The only album I really paid attention to this year was Libertad from Velvet Revolver. It was a solid rock album but it didn't do all that well on the charts.

I can't really think of any off the top of my head, but looking at your lists I've got to say I like Modest Mouse and the White Stripes' new ones. I also liked The Fratellis but haven't listened to it in awhile.

Do they make music nowadays that doesn't suck?
When did that happen?
The White Stripes are the only band I've listened to off these lists.

Atmosphere - Sad Clown Bad Summer
Deer Tick - War Elephant
Devin the Dude - Waitin' to Inhale

Sole and the Skyrider Band

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple, but those are what come immediately to mind.

I just realized I don't think I've bought a CD in years.

I concur.
I have bought music DVDs (Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin who else?) but haven't bought a CD since Bernard Fanning's solo album and before that ?????????
