I expected this. Didn't see us dealing for Bedard because we'd have to part with Matt Kemp and the A's were asking too much for Joe Blanton.

I wouldn't really call 3 years at 12 million depth. For that money they should be getting a number 2 starter.

Sorry, i wasn't trying to be a jerk. I just hope the dodgers see Kuroda as more than depth.

I don't know if I would have paid this much for him.
He has deadly control , he's either going to be excellent or a big bust.
I would have gone for one of 2 other starters from Japan (who I think are free agents) , because no one is talking about them they will be a lot cheaper. And they have the potential to be just as good if not better.
Koji Uehara http://thebaseballcube.com/players/U/Koji-Uehara.shtml or
Kenshin Kawakami http://thebaseballcube.com/players/K/Kenshin-Kawakami.shtml

Uehara has a career WHIP of 0.99 and a career K/9 of 8.08. For possibly/hopefully 4-5 mil this would be the go for me.

The funniest quote in this signing............................

Retard D-Bag Ned Colletti wrote:Colletti said last week he hadn't seen Kuroda pitch in person, but added: "The right people have seen him. What do I like about him? He's a good pitcher. He has some of the great attributes we admire in a pitcher."

Now Colletti obviously isn't a numbers man , and he hasn't seen him pitch , so what does he like about him????
I think the bolded part means "I have no idea what I just spent my money on." :-S :-S :-S
Retard. ;-D

I've read that Kawakami has one year of service time left before he's a FA. He'd need to be posted.
Uehara, I've read, didn't have enough innings pitched last year, so he didn't make the FA list either.

Rats. I read somewhere that they both were FA (somewhere that was linked from a Yahoo page).
Obviously if no-one else is talking about them then you must be correct.
Thanks San ;-D

No prob. I had read that they may be free agents too and was reading up on them for my minors draft in January. I had them ranked similarly to you.....Uehara, Kawakami, Kuroda
