I reckon Tony Pena unless they decide to go with Qualls or sign someone. Though I suppose both Brandon Lyon and Juan Cruz would be longshots.

It wasn't a secret that AZ might move Valverde but I would have thought they could have gotten more than they did.

His value does go down a bit but HOU seemed to get plenty of opps the last few years.

What is Houston doing this offseason? So they add Tejada and Valverde to a bad team (losing Qualls, Scott, Burke, and LIdge), and think that they're in it?

I think it'll be Tony Pena as well and Rotoworld is speculating the same
With the trade of Jose Valverde to Houston, Tony Pena becomes the clear favorite for saves in Arizona.

Pena fatigued at the end of last year, but he still finished with a 3.27 ERA in 85 1/3 innings. Used more carefully, as he will be in the closer's role, he should prove to be a fine replacement for Jose Valverde. If not, the Diamondbacks will have Chad Qualls and Brandon Lyon ready as backups. They also have Max Scherzer and Dustin Nippert as high-upside bullpen possibilities if they fail to cut it as starters.

I like the trade. Of course I wouldnt have dealt Lidge in the first place along with the other moves Wade has made, but based on what has happened this trade makes sense.

No idea. As far as I see the bullpen and rotation are about the same as last year. The offense is better and the defense is worse. I don't see them in the race but I guess stranger things have happened.

This is not a bad trade by any means, but I've never seen a GM destroy a farm system this fast.

To be fair there wasn't much to destroy.
