How long will it be before people on this board and people on sports radio and t.v. try to minimize barry bonds' recent troubles by pointing to the many other baseball players who are caught by the Mitchell probe? Will they forget (did they ever know?) that barry was never the target of an investigation but happened to be involved with a lab that was catering to track atheletes that was busted by the feds? Then barry lied to a grand jury about his involvement. How soon will it be before we have to suffer through that crap?

It probably won't happen. Bonds is still going to be public enemy #1. People will hem and haw about Clemens but he'll never be as hated as Bonds. He'll likely go the route of McGwire.
Ideally, people would use this list and realize the hypocrisy that goes on in baseball and in the media.

Eh, just playing devil's advocate, but why should Bonds's record have an asterisk for taking steroids when the home runs he was hitting was off pitchers who were also taking steroids?

This is exactly what Bonds supporters have been arguing for years but the haters refuse to listen because of their personal hatred towards Bonds.

Ban them all from HOF.
Mark the records in this era with an *.
There is a way.

Starting never and ending never.
Every era has its mitigating circumstances - no competition from black players, players missing for wars, players on greenies, etc. Move on.

When did the steroid era start? When did it end? What about players who have not been associated to steroids? What about players who have but are innocent? What numbers are you going to mark with an *? Just the records? That isn't fair. You have to mark everyone's numbers with an asterisk. Every single player.
There is no way. This argument is laughable.
