Yeah, Tek is the second biggest name that could have been on the list - Papi being the biggest, especially since he's a power hitter, whereas Varitek's strengths are largely intangible.

This whole thing is a joke anyway. He had no subpeona power during this investigation and no cooperation from the players union. It cost about $25 million to produce this piece of garbage as it turns out was headed by a person who quite possibly has a conflict of interest. Another huge blunder by the idiot of idiots..BUD SELIG.

What did Selig have to do with this? This was a congressional investigation. All Selig did was say that they would do whatever they could to cooperate.

I really dont understand all the hatred towards Selig I've been reading lately - am I missing something?
