Something I came across just now while looking up the nuances of the baseball compensatory free-agent pick system and kind of tickled me, so here it is....
Who is the only player in MLB history to be traded.... for himself?
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Strong work.
Although Noles was really a case where the trade just wasn't ever completed.... after the Chiti trade, the league changed the rule on the PTBNL so as to prevent it happening again.

On April 25, 1962, Chiti was purchased by the expansion New York Mets from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later. That "player to be named later" ended up being Harry Chiti, arranged to be sent back to the Indians on June 15, 1962.
thanks i believe i have heard of that before.

Almost Like a Rule 5 draft
Where a team can draft a AAA player from another teams roster for $50,000 and if they dont keep him on the roster for the whole year they can give them back for $25,000.
