The Mitchell Investigation

Postby BronXBombers51 » Tue Dec 11, 2007 9:57 pm

MLB received it's copy of the Mitchell Report on Tuesday, roughly 48 hours before it's due to be published.
The report is believed to name 60-80 current and former players. A substantial percentage figure to be New York Mets, as it was their former clubhouse attendant, Kirk Radomski, that provided George Mitchell's committee with much of its information.

It's supposed to come out this week, right? Anyone know what day?

Victor Conte is meeting some investigators tomorrow (Wed). With Anti-Doping Agency chief Dick Pound tomorrow in New York. I wonder if the Mitchell stuff includes his info.

If Bud Selig's name isn't first on the list of Steroid abusers than this investigation swung and missed.

I wonder if there will be any 'name' players on the list? I would think an aging player with a history of charming mlb would be a likely target if any big names are revealed. Thinking a Gary Sheffield type of guy.

Yep. They need to go after the ringleader and the ringleader is not Barry Bonds, it's Bud Selig along with ownership. These are the guys who need to be in court for allowing their employees to use illegal drugs while profiting from it. It will be great for baseball if the report takes down Selig. It's ridiculous that the guy who oversaw the steroid era is still holding the position.
